Alexey was born in the fall of 1938 in the Moscow region of Sergiev Posad, former Zagorsk, in the family of the workers of the defense plant. The father worked as Deputy Head of the Labor Department, and the mother was the head of the Labor Bureau and Salary. In the first war years, Safonov moved to Tomsk, the boy was then 3 years. The native city is returned only in 1943 and continue to work at the same factory.

The man worked as an actor in the Moscow Regional Theater under the leadership of Boris Golubovsky. To solve this problem, he had one month. The desire to enter the cinematographic university was so great that Alexey was in urgent signed up for classes to the speech therapist. For the happiness of the guy, he fell to a talented doctor, who for such a short time managed to save him from the problem.
There were no other reasons for refusing to receive VGIK in the qualifying commission, therefore, a month later, the guy is credited to Olga Pyzova. As the artist himself later recalled, 4 years of study were simply unforgettable for him, there he had a chance to meet people who later became excellent actors.
Films
The first film, in which Alexey Safonov starred, was the painting of the director Joseph Hayfiza "Horizon". At that time, the young man was still taught at the 4th year of university. This film was supposed to become a business card in the biography of a novice actor, since he was pinned high hopes. However, this did not happen. Spectators met a film without ovations, and the actor's game was not appreciated.
Immediately after the end of the university, the young man becomes a member of the Gorky Studio team. For a while, the acting activities of Safonov is suspended, and it is immersed in the dubbing. In 1970, the film "Train in Tomorrow", in which Safonov played the role of Bukharin. According to the plan of the director Villan Azarov, in the eyes of the public, Bukharin was to be rehabilitated.

The second marriage of Safonov brought a man more happiness. His wife became Natalia Treaschaeva - Actress and Master Dubbing. The woman graduated from the same university as the spouse, but only in 1979. As an actress, she is known on the films "Married Balcher", "Balamut" and other.
