Within Temptation is a Dutch group playing music in style of sympho metal with gothic elements. Becoming noticeable in the late 1990s, after the release of the 1st studio album, the team became famous in 2001 with the appearance of the composition "Ice Queen", which rose highly in the charts and won a number of prestigious musical awards.The history of creation and composition
At the origins of Within Temptation stood a vocalist Sharon Dan Adel and Guitarist and Singer Robert Westercholt. In 1996, the musicians united and created a musical metal project called the Portal. Soon the duet composition expanded with the arrival of the former colleagues Robert on the project The Circle, a keyboard player Vestercholt, a guitarist Michila Papenovhe, Basist Yerun Van Vienna and Dennis Lefang drummer. The group was united called within temptation.
In the first year of existence, the team experimented with the composition, in a short period they tried several masters of the rhythm section. At first, the place of Dennis Leflang occupied Ivar de Count, after a while he was replaced by Richard Willems, and then Siro Palma appeared, delayed in the group until the end of the 1990s.
In the early 2000s, global permutations occurred in Within Temptation. Martine Westercholt left the project immediately after he was diagnosed with infectious mononucleosis. Martain Spirenburg came to replace the musician, which became not only the keyboard player, but also the author of the words to some tracks the record "The Heart of Everything".
Another newcomer Within Temptation was the guitarist Ryud Yoli, several times replacing the proposals of Robert Westercholt to join the team.
An important milestone in the history of the creation of Within Temptation was 2011, when the drummer Mike Knee came to the group, and Robert Westercholt Leading Musician refused to tour with the team and took up the education of children. Music
The debut disc Within Temptation "Enter" team released in 1997 at the DSFA RECORDS studio. The album was written in the style of Gothic-Metal and was distinguished by heavy guitar reefs and the contrasting vocals of Vocalists Robert Westercholt and Sharon Dan Adel. In support of the record, the musicians organized a tour of the Netherlands, completed by the performance at the Dynamo Open Air festival site in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. And then came to the international scene by going with concerts in Germany and Austria.
In 1999, the Group acquired the studio and began to prepare material for a new disk. "Mother Earth" was presented to the court of critics and listeners on December 1, 2000 and did not have mass success. Popularity came to the team after the release of the Single "Ice Queen", which reached the 2nd place in the charts in the Netherlands and the 1st in Belgium. Following this, the album itself rose on the prize lines. The musical style of the group has changed, the songs became melodious, the folk Celtic motifs appeared in them.
In 2002, the group that became famous in his homeland and in nearby countries gave its first concert in France, and then spoke in Mexico City with a large program. A year later, the musicians went to the international tour with Paradise Lost, then were chadliners of large festivals in Holland, and in 2004 a debut concert of the team in Tuman Albion was held.
Plans for the Third Studio Album Group implemented in 2004, "The Silent Force" was presented in Europe in mid-November. The record instantly became No. 1 at home of the group and ranked high places in the charts of other countries. The songs "Destroyed" and "Jane DoE" were bonus tracks. In 2007, the Within Temptation discography was replenished with another studio plate "The Heart of Everything". The European release took place in early March, and in the US, it was released at the end of June.
2 compositions, "The Howling" and "Sounds of Freedom" were sold for RPG "The Chronicles of Spellborn", and the song "What Have You Done" came out as an additional single. The video clip on this composition was starred in London together with fans and a specially invited star of a mini kaputo, the soloist "Life of Agony". The participants did not like the resulting video, and they completely converted it. In mid-2007, Within Temptation, for the first time, went to the United States with concerts in support of The Heart Of Everything.
The new album within Temptation "The UnforGiving" based on the comic screenwriter Stephen O'Connela was presented in March 2011. On the cover of the disc depicts a character created by the artist Romano Molyarm, and in the foreground there is a photo Sharon Den Adel in a similar costume and an identical pose. The plate started under No. 2 in the Netherlands and fell into the top 10 charts of many European countries. In 2012, there was a tour of Within Temptation on the South American continent.
After some time, the team presented the announcement by the announcement of the special show "Elements", dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the team. Within temptation was going to perform an orchestra in the original composition and together with invited stars and ex-musicians of the group. The full version of the 6th Studio Plate came out in the winter of 2014. The group returned to the top of the charts in his homeland and beyond. Within temptation again organized tour of Europe, USA and Canada. Tickets for a new show were sold out immediately after receipt of the sale, the continental part of the tour was visited by a record number of group fans.
In the fall of 2017, Sharon Dan Adel announced the beginning of the solo career and was distinguished from within temptation for a while. At the beginning of 2018, she admitted that it was ready to return to the team and work on a new material.
WITHIN TEMPTATION Now
In July 2018, Within Temptation signed a contract with Vertigo Records Germany label, which will release a new team studio album worldwide, with the exception of Japan.
The disc called "Resist" was devoted to a review in the magazine "Metal Hammer Magazine", it is coming out on February 1, 2019.
