Biography

VIA "YALLA" is the legend of Soviet music of the 1970-1980s. Founded in Uzbekistan as a team of amateur-based team, the group became popular thanks to talented performers and artistic director Farruhu Zakirov, the author of the immortal hat "Uchkuduk".

The history of creation and composition

The group "Yalla" originated on a wave of growing interest in foreign pop on the outcome of the 1960s. At that time, vocal instrumental ensembles were new and fashionable phenomenon and were created at factories, schools and other Soviet institutions to support the cultural level of the population and entertain the public on dance sites. The best teams were detected with the help of competitions and reviews of artistic amateur.

In 1970, to participate in one of such competitions held in Tashkent, Hermann Rozhkov and Yevgeny Shiryaev gathered a team of young people, a little playing on musical instruments. By this time, Ravshan and Farruh Zakirov came to the group, and the team under the leadership of Yevgeny Shiryaeva began to be called "Yalla." Gradually, the composition from which the history of creation began, changed: Sergey Avanesov left, then other participants. The renewed project was represented by Farrum Zakirov, Alisher Tulaganov, Abbos Aliyev, Javlon Takhtayev and Rustam Ilyasov. After some time, Soloyski Nargiz Baykhanov and Larisa Kandalov joined talented men.

Music

Starting the way with the execution of popular Soviet songs, Yalla soon switched to his own creativity, based on the national Uzbek motifs. The first songs recorded by the company "Melodia" were "Yallama Yerim" and "Kiz Bola". The musicians used the folk instruments to the Door and Rebab along with the synthesizer and electric guitars. Such a fusion of modern sound with an ancient oriental flavor quickly made a group recognizable and beloved.

In the mid-1970s, Yalla collected crowds of fans in the Music Hall in Native Tashkent and successfully toured in the USSR. In 1973, the Group played at the opening of the 10th World Festival of Youth and Students in the GDR and recorded a record at the Berlin Studio "Amiga". Songs performed in German, liked Western public and occupied positions in foreign hit parades.

In the Soviet Union, Yalla produced compositions on the company "Melody", as well as on flexible discs attached to the magazine "Circassium".

In 1979, Farruh Zakirov, who became the artistic director of the ensemble, tried himself as a composer. This experiment was crowned with success - the song "Three Wells" ("Uchkuduk"), written in the poems of Yuri Entin, became a hit and a business card of musicians. Thanks to this Hallet, Yalla has reached the final of the popular television project "Song of the Year" and won the diploma of the All-Union Competition of the Pop performers.

After 2 years, "three wells" became the title composition of the plate of the same name, which includes 7 more songs in Russian. "Yalla" often appeared on radio and television in popular programs. Tours gathered thousands of fans. The performances of musicians were accompanied by a colorful theatrical show, which included traditional elements of the culture of eastern peoples.

In the photo taken during the performances of VIA "Yalla", the performers were dressed in national costumes, and Uzbek tissues and carpets were invariably attended. In 1983, the ensemble released the second full-fledged album called "my beloved face." Among other songs "Yalla" performed the ballad of the composer Alexei Rybnikov to the poems of Rabindranat Tagore "The Last Poem" in the original arrangement, where the leading parties belonged to flute, electric juggun and doors.

A distinctive feature of the record was a combination of folklore motifs with melodies in the style of jazz rock. Slow album songs were filled with the sounds of a minima and an acoustic guitar, and dance tracks were accompanied by accompaniment of hydraulic. The fusion of ancient national traditions and modernity created a sense of space and attracted listeners by making a record popular for many years.

"Music teahouse" became the third vinyl giant of the ensemble, immersing the public to the atmosphere of the Eastern Holiday. The perky song "Rattlerice", thanks to the memorable refrain, quickly became a dance hit, and the lyrical ballad of "Teahon" at the concerts of the group sang the whole hall.

In the early 1990s, Yalla's popularity was published beyond the Soviet Union. The music of Uzbek Solovyov announced the expanses of Vietnam, Turkey, Switzerland, Sri Lanka and other countries of the world. Zakirov sang with friends in the palaces and outdoors, in concert halls and small restaurants.

During one of the show in Afghanistan, the performers fell under the shelling, but did not stop the speeches and the awards of President Najibulla were awarded. For foreign touring, the musicians prepared a special program that included a song in the native language of the listeners, dozens of times they translated the words "Uchkuduk", which occurred by the stormy applause of the public.

In 1991, Yalla recorded another disc on the company "Melody". The album under the strange name "Falakning Fejl-Aphgor" consisted of Russian and Uzbek compositions and was little known in the homeland and abroad. The record has become the last work of the group released on vinyl, and remained in the archives of recording studio.

Since 1995, the musicians have switched to digital format and released several CDs with the participation of foreign labels, and also engaged in creating video clips. Especially colors were rollers on the composition "Uchkuduk", "Chinuri" and "Remember me", filled with a duet with the singer Nargiz Zakirova.

In the 2000s, the soloist, Farruha Zakirov, was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, but he did not leave the ensemble and combined the administrative work with a musical career. At this time, Yalla toured a lot, participated in charitable events and held a grandiose jubilee concert "Guide Star", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the group. The 35th birthday ensemble noted a series of speeches that have passed in the best concert halls of the country.

Currently, VIA "Yalla" exists like a musical team, but its appearance at public concerts became quite rare. Zakirov, taking his biography with the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, and now remains a soloist and creative leader of the ensemble.

Group

Becoming the legends of Soviet music, the group members performed at the retro show, who collected popular Russian and foreign performers in Moscow in July 2018. They performed hits of different years, among whom were "Uchkuduk", "Blue Domes of Samarkand", "Song Nasredina" and others.

In 2019, the Group plans to continue the series of concerts with the participation of stars of the 80s, and also speak at other events, not excluding corporate events, weddings and other celebrations.
