Biography
Helmut Newton is a German-Australian photographer who made a revolution in the world of fashionable photography, his work was asked trends. He made a big breakthrough, setting up a job in French "Vogue", where he fulfilled his best work and received international fame and recognition.

Childhood and youth
Helmut Newton was born on October 31, 1920 under the name of Helmut Neustter in the Clara family and Max Noyestesteers in Berlin. His father, a Jew, was the rich owner of a factory manufacturing factory. Helmut studied at Heinrich-Faychki-Realgimnasium and in the American School in Berlin, from where he was expelled for bad studies.
Helmut's interest in photography began at 12 years old when he got his first chamber. At this time, the boy was expelled from school for poor performance, and instead of recovery of study, he got a job as a famous German photographer Elson Simon, also known as Iva. But cooperation with Elsa lasts only 2 years, as his family had to leave Germany because of the German campaign against the Jews.
After the implementation of Nuremberg laws, Max Noyachtedter had to abandon the possession of the factory, and in 1938 he was sent to the concentration camp.
In the same year, Newton's parents fled to South America, they managed to organize a son's trip to China. However, the guy preferred to get away from the ship in Singapore. There, Helmut found the work of the portraitist for the newspaper "Streit Times", from where he was fired him from 2 weeks. He had a relationship with Jozett, rich in an elderly woman who paid him well. He also founded his own photo studio "Marquis", but did not succeed with her.
In 1940, the British authorities called 20-year-old Helmut "enemy foreigners" and sent to the camp in Australia. After spending 2 years, he was recruited in the Australian army as a truck driver, where he served until the end of World War II.
After dismissal from the army, he acquired Australian citizenship and changed his surname with Neustter to Newton. In 1946, Helmut created a photo studio in Melbourne to work on fashionable and theater photographs.
Photo art
In 1953, Newton organized a joint exhibition called "New Goggles in Photography" with another German refugee and photographer Wolfgang Siversom. In the same year, he began a long-term cooperation with the German Jew Henry Talbot.
After finding the reputation of the trendy photographer, his work was included in the Australian publication of the magazine "Vogue" in 1956. Soon, Helmut concluded an annual contract with "Vogue" and moved to London, but he left for a month before the agreed period. Subsequently, Newton moved to Paris, where he worked for French and German magazines.
Soon the photographer returned to Melbourne, but in 1961 he left Paris again, despite the signing of a contract with the Australian "Vogue". In Paris, he got a job in the French Publishing House of the Popular Journal. His corporate identity included provocative, but aesthetic photos of women. In his interview, a man repeatedly noted that he was interested in the nature of power - sexual, political and financial.
After an almost a deadly heart attack in 1971 in New York, he began to shoot frankly sex photos, which were his most controversial creations. His works were crossed with themes of voyeurism, fetishism, homosexuality and sadomasochism, Newton's women outraged some feminist audience and satisfied others. One of the most famous works of that time was the photo "Bergstrom above Paris".
Its black and white photographs combined the noura photojournalist of the 1930s with aspects of the film "New Wave", reflecting the filmmaker's directorial skill.
Over the years, Helmut has been focused mainly on fashion, erotica and portrait, and these three categories often mixed. Together with Gi Burden and Deborah Lu, Turbeville Newton became one of the three photographers who have changed his eyes on fashionable photo shoots and departed from traditional images.
Portraits of celebrities became an increasing aspect of Newton's creativity. And although at first he took it mostly only models, over the long years, the master expanded his portfolio, including a huge number of people - artists, actors, directories, politicians, industrial magnates.
In his lens, directed by David Lynch in a pair with his beloved Isabella Rosselini, Italian beauty Monica Bellucci, singer David Bowie. Many of the stars were published in the 1980s on the pages of "Vanity Fair".
In 1975, Newton organized its first personal exhibition in Paris. Next year, he published the first book "White Women."
The album-published album "Big Nude", received the greatest fame. He portrayed models in sensual poses outside the studios, often on the streets, which was quite non-standard for that time. This series focused Newton's status as one of the most outstanding fashion photographers of its time. This year, "Vogue" published a double work entitled "They go", which was sold at auction for $ 662 thousand in 2008.

Personal life
In 1947, working in his studio in Melbourne, Newton met Jan Brown, Australian model and actress. They almost immediately entered the relationship and got married next year.

The couple was happy in the personal life of 56 years, until the death of Helmut. An interesting fact is that children have not appeared during these many years.
Death
On January 23, 2004, the photographer got into a car accident - his car crashed into the wall of the Chateau Marmont hotel near Sansset-Boulevard, where he stayed for several years.
The cause of the death of 83-year-old Houston became a heart attack. Death occurred an hour after the accident. His dust rests in Berlin.
