Igor Petrovich Vladimirov was born on January 1, 1919 in the Ukrainian People's Republic, in the city of Ekaterinoslava. Now it is the city of Dnipro. After the birth of the boy, the family moved to Kharkov and lived in it until 1932. In the same year they moved to Leningrad.
