Sergey Vladimirovich Loznitsa was born in the small Belarusian city of Baranovichi Brest region on September 5, 1964. However, the boy grew up in Kiev - his family moved to the Ukrainian capital when he was very small. Sergey's parents were engaged in the development of aircraft at the State Enterprise "Antonov".
The guy graduated from secondary school in 1981, after which she successfully passed the entrance examinations to the Kiev Polytechnic Institute at the Department of Applied Management Systems Faculty Systems. On the professional choice of Loznitsa to some extent influenced his relatives.
After receiving a higher education diploma in 1987, a young man who has an outstanding mind, which has been combined by a Japanese translator and work associated with the development of artificial intelligence at the Cybernetics Institute.
In 1991, Sergey revised his priorities and decided to radically change the sphere of professional activity. He conceived to receive the second higher education (this time a humanitarian) and entered the Moscow VGIK on the director of the game cinema. Georgian actress, screenwriter, director and part-time teacher Nana Giviyevna Georghadze became the main teacher and ideological inspirer Loznitsa.
After 6 years later, a man graduated with honors from the university and in 2000 began to work by the director in the St. Petersburg studio of documentary films, since it was not possible to shoot art films. A year later, Sergey, together with his family, immigrated to Germany in order to further develop in the profession. He believed that in Europe more resources for self-realization.
Films
Gaming and documentaries Sergey Loznitsa love not only in Russia, but also in Europe. Their creator is a medalist of many international film festivals, such as Leipzig, Berlin, Oberhausen, "Nika" - in general, the director has more than 40 awards and Grand Prix. He takes an active part in all shooting processes - writes a script, stands behind the camera, finances the project and lead them.
At the beginning of his creative biography, Loznitsa prefers the shooting of documentary and short cinema, as well as writing scenarios. The first film, who received a loud publicity in the narrow circles of connoisseurs of documentary chronicles, was called "blockade". His premiere took place in 2005. The picture without embellishment, unnecessary words and music showed the terrible consequences of the war and slowly dying the majestic Leningrad.
In 2008, on the 37th Rotterdam Film Festival, the new film of Sergei "Presentation" was shown, which is the real shots of one day of the provincial Soviet life of the 1950-1960s. The basis of the picture was the rare shooting for the news of "our edge".
In one of the interview, the man admitted that, unfortunately, documentary films could not give that freedom to which artistic paintings had. He wanted to show the real and cruel reflection of the modern world in the "non -paradic" Russia.
The debut gaming drama Loznitsa, published in 2010, was called "My Happiness." "Road Cinema" about the violence primary in post-Soviet depths, hatred and alienation was removed in Ukraine. For his first artistic film, Sergey Vladimirovich was awarded the Golden Palm Branch of the Cannes Film Festival and the title of the best director on the "Kinotavra".
No less significant picture is the dramatic film "Meek", published in 2017. The plot is founded on the story of the Russian classic of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky and tells about the unfortunate woman who went to his prisoner to a prison in order to find out whether everything was fine with him.
Now in the filmography of Masters a few feature films. The latter called "Donbass" came out on May 9, 2018. This is a tragicomedy, which is based on the amateur video from YouTube, created on the territory of the DPR 3 years earlier. The premiere of the picture took place within the Cannes Film Festival.
The artistic style of an outstanding director implies the use of long plans removed on the handcap, the lack of meaningless scenes for the filling of timekeeping and natural interiors. In addition, Loznitsa loves to cooperate not so much with professional actors as with ordinary people. In his opinion, the persons of the artists are burdened with the experience of past filming and the mood of the characters previously played.
Personal life
Not so much is known about the personal life of the artist of the arts. He has a wife and two children with whom he holds a quarter of the year in Germany, and the rest of the time it works in other countries - Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and, of course, Russia. A man tries to protect a family hearth from an extra eye, without publishing a photo with family on the Internet.
