Denis was born on January 10, 1996 in Chelyabinsk, like Father Igor Zernov. Hockey interested the future star in childhood - in 5 years, Denis began playing the yard team. Denis lived in the Chmz area, and engaged in the "tractor". The building was hardly at the other end of the city, but the school was considered the best. We had to ride a tram with a transplant. The first 3 years of equipment took with them - the locker rooms in young athletes were not. However, there was no thoughts to leave the hobby: despite the difficulties with the road, he asked himself to train the grains himself, and how otherwise he could treat the hockey boy, over the bed of which posters with Pavel Bure and Wayne Gretcks hung.

Sporting biography began with failure - Denis did not take the native "tractor" in MHL. The reason was the unsuccessful graduation season in a hockey school. At first I broke my hand, I had to recover for a long time, then I received another injury. By the end of the season, only 15 matches were listed on the score, for which he almost did not score points.As a result, all graduates "Tractor-1996" were in the team of MHL "White Bears", and Denis offered to wait for a year and play Yohl. The year was normal, but I didn't take it in the MHL - there were already graduates of born in 1997. The grain was offered to stay in the junior league for another year, and it became clear that the striker had already written off.
Denis remained in Yukhl, but in the fall of 2014 was lucky - grain called in Togliatti. Since there was no chance in Chelyabinsk, the athlete left, without hesitation. From 2015 to 2016 he played the MHL for the Togliatti "Lady", and the next 2 years spent for "Lada" in the continental hockey league. On the eve of the contest, several tests in a row were defective, and Denis began to argue with doping officers, which could cost participation in the series with CSKA. In a conversation with the newspaper "Sport-Express", the striker stressed that, contrary to the gossip, there is a reference of RUSAD, confirming the purity of tests.
Despite the injury, at the end of the 2019-2020 season, the club extended a contract with a star for another 2 years. For the 2020 Denis Zernov received an average of a salary for the team - 50 million rubles.
