The history of creation and composition

The authors of the creation of one of the most popular Rock groups of Great Britain were the brothers Mark and David Nonopfleers, who in the 1970s were a teacher of art and a social worker, as well as their friends Peak Withers and John Illesley, who moved to Newcastle from the small town of Leicester.

In 1980, personnel changes have occurred in the group, and without the participation of David Nopefler, the Dire Straits released experimental albums "Love Over Gold" and "Making Movies". They received positive feedback from critics and contained "Tunnel of Love" hits, "The Carousel Waltz", "Romeo and Juliet", which were recorded by a novel with a new keyboard player and guitar player.

In 1985, the discography of the British team was replenished with a fifth studio plate, which received world famous thanks to the Single of the Brithers in Arms. And after the world tour, which consisted of more than 300 concerts, a decision was made about the final dissolution of the team, but now their tracks are published on CDs and are present in the films "Riding High", Mario and Conspiracy of Hope.

Dire Straits now

In the late 2000s, some participants offered to renew joint activities, but did not like this idea to the frontman, and he answered with a categorical refusal. Therefore, at the initiative of Chris White, a genital project was created called The Dire Straits Experience, where the former members of the British team and other world-class musicians played.
