The MANOWAR group is called the founding father of metal music, which seriously affected the formation of the genre. And in the process of own development, the artists actually gave rise to a new direction called True Metal and adhere to it today. At the same time, the team is aimed at military topics and known for aesthetics of songs, as well as frequent appeal to Scandinavian mythology.The history of creation and composition
The history of the creation of Manowar began in 1980, after the acquaintance of the two founders at the Black Sabbath concert. One of them is Basisisit Joey de Mayo - at that time he worked as a sound engineer and pyrotechnics from the above team. At that concentration of 1980, Ross Friedmen was playing at the heating of the speakers, with whom Joey subsequently and brought acquainted.
For a full-fledged team, it remained to find someone on vocals and drummer. Solist Joey called his childhood friend Eric Adams. After a small casting for Manowar, a candidate for the drummer was found. They became Karl Kendy. He long stayed in this composition and immediately after recording the first demo went to The Rods. His place was taken by the American Polish origin Donnie Hamzik, who soon changed Scott Columbus.
After the output of the album "Kings of Metal", the team was waiting for a casting again, they left the guitarist Ross Friedmen. No longer finding common interests with colleagues, he decided to change the direction and went into a more blues version of Hard-rock.
Charles Logan took his place, which in 2018 was accused of storing child pornography and arrested. From this point on, his work with the group is temporarily suspended. Scott Columbus has doubled cooperation with the group twice, Kenny Earl Edwards came to his place, more famous for Reno and Donney Hamzik.
Music
In 1982, Manowar represent the "Battle Hymns" album. Texts for him composed Joey himself, they did not have a deep meaning, and, as a result, the plate was waiting for a small amount of sales. And if in Japan and Europe at least somehow acquired, then in the US, the release was removed without success. After a year, the command manages to release the "INTO GLORY RIDE" disk. All songs are written in the style of Hevi-Metal, they were considered by listeners as confirmation of the existence of a true metal.To work on the next plastic "Hail to England" team rides Canada. Her release was met with a bang, and therefore the country around the country passed with great success. But the musicians were waiting and disappointed - the record company broke the contract with them under the pretext that they now work exclusively with teams from England.
In 1987, the team recorded the "Fighting the World" disk, and the song "Blow Your Speakers" celebrated the clip. Track "Violence and Bloodshed" a group dedicated to the War in Vietnam. After the release, they went on tour in the world, and then began to work on the next disk "Kings of Metal". Especially well listeners perceived the song "Hail and Kill".
The album "Louder Than Hell" in discography appeared at Manowar in 1996. Against the background of the other tracks, the "Today IS A good Day to Die" was allocated, and the clip was removed on the "Return of the Warlord", which was spinning at MTV for some time.
