The history of Korn begins with the collapse of the rock band L.P.P.D., in which since 1989 played three future New Metalists: James Schaffer, Reginald Arvizu and David Silveria. The guys did not plan to throw music, therefore they activated the search for a soloist to replace Richard Morill, who destroyed L.A.p.d. its narcotic addiction.
In 1993, Schaffer and joined the future Korn Bryan Welch saw in the club Speech by the Sexatr group, in which Jonathan Davis answered vocals. They offered a young man to join their team. First, Davis refused, but, having consulted with a clairvoyant, changed the decision.
The resulting team of five musicians in the early 1990s was called Creep (from English. "Goosebumps"). The composition included vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Davis, Rhythm Guitarist James Manka Shaffer, Guitarist Brian Head Welch, Bass Guitarist Reginald Field Arvizu and Drummer David Silveria.
When the musicians came up with a name for themselves, the word Corn sounded (from the English. "Corn").
