Biography

Many musical groups started creative climbing with zero in his pocket. So, Papa Roach, which play alternative rock genre, on the $ 700 on its own debut's debut longplay. They were lucky: the music liked the local radio, and some tracks went on the ether. Now Papa Roach is the world-famous team whose fan base is not over thousands, but hundreds of thousands of fans. The number of album sold is over 20 million copies.

The history of creation and composition

The history of the creation of PAPA ROACH begins with the acquaintance of Solist Jackobi Sheddix and Dave Bacner in January 1993. The guys met on the football field and talked about music. The coincidence of interest led to the thought of creating a team. Guitarist Jerry Horton, thrombonist Ben Luther and Basist Will James joined the duet.

The participants of the future Papa Roach were given to the School Competition of Talents. As a song, the guys chose "Fire" Jimmy Hendrix. The creative competition was not on the teeth, but, despite the failure, the young musicians continued to play.

The team rehearsed daily and even bought a tour of the tour, which was called Moby Dick. It inspired Shaddicks take the first stage name - Coby Dick. And the name of Papa Roach, the guys chose the nicknamed Schuddick's stepfather - Howard William Rouch.

In 1994, Papa Roach released the first Mikstep "Potatoes for Christmas". Significantly later, in an interview with 2013, Jackobi Sheddix called the music of those years "eccentric", something among Mr. Bungle, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Primus. With such a material, the guys performed in clubs and on discos, while 3 years later did not appear a debut studio. From this point on, the history of the creation of modern PAPA ROACH begins.

Music

On February 4, 1997, the Machofal Album "Old Friends from Young Years" came out. He was recorded in the following composition: Jackobi Shaddix on vocal, Jerry Horton on the tricks and guitar, Tobin Esperance on Bass and Dave Backer on the drums. Now this plate is considered to be a musical value - the guys paid for the recording and printing of the discs on their own, enough for only 2 thousand copies.

In 1998, Papa Roach released a mixtype called "5 Tracks Deep", which in the first month went around with a circulation of 1 thousand copies. And a year later, the collection "Let 'Em Know" came out, which became the latest independent release of the group. The success of the plate attracted the attention of the Warner Music Group, which provided a small amount of money for the production of a demonstration CD with the 5th tracks. Papa Roach, still inexperienced, but arrogant musicians, insisted that an influential person in rock music Jay Bumgardner will be produced. Later in an interview, he said:

"I was not sure about success, but then I saw a video from Papa Roach's speech in the club. These children went crazy, knew the songs by heart that were rare for modern performers. I realized that they definitely have potential. "

The resulting demo recording did not like Warner Bros., but I had to taste DreamWorks Records. Immediately after concluding the contract, Papa Roach went to the studio to record the album "INFEST" (2000). It included already well-known songs from independent releases: "Infest", "Last Resort", "Broken Home", "Dead Cell" and others, only 11 compositions. There was a place and new tracks: "obsession" (later known as "Between Angels and Insects"), "Blood Brothers" and "Never Enough".

Success followed immediately: in the first week, "Infest" there was a circulation of 30 thousand copies. Immediately after the release of the clip on the "Last Resort", which, by the way, was nominated for MTV Video Music Awards as the best newcomer, Papa Roach went on tour. They had a chance to perform on the same stage with Limp Bizkit, Eminem, Xzibit and Ludacris. Already by the end of 2000, the group visited the UK - the closed country in the musical terms.

After the world's tourists, Papa Roach returned to the studio to record the album "Born to Rock", which later received the name "LoveHateTragedy". The plate was published in 2002. Although she did not beat the "infest" in the number of copies implemented in the first week, but climbed higher in the charts of the United States and the UK.

In LoveHateTragedy Music Genre Papa Roach changed: the group has kept a new metal sound, but focused on vocals, not music. Under the influence of Eminem and Ludacris on the record there appeared rap. The release of the album was accompanied by two singles: She Loves Me Not and Time and Time Again, both became hits.

At the end of 2003, Papa Roach recorded the third album "Getting Away with Murder". Above him, the band worked with a recognized producer Howard Benson. The album presented a different musical approach and became the first in the discography of Papa Roach, in which the New Metal and RAP does not sound. "Getting Away with Murder" surpassed "LoveHateTracted" mainly due to the popularity of the SCARS single. To date, the album has been sold more than 1 million copies and recognized as platinum.

The next music breakthrough Papa Roach is the Album "The Paramor Sessions" (2006), named after the place in which was recorded, - Paramour Mansion Castle. Sheddix noticed that acoustics in the old building makes the sound unique. It is not surprising that extremely gentle rock ballads were born in such a romantic place. The album debuted at Billboard 200 Charts at the 16th place.

The group then planned to release the collection of acoustic versions of its songs, for example, "Forever", "Scars" and "Not Coming Home", but the release was postponed. In an interview with Billboard.com, Shaddix explained that she did not think that the fans were ready for the acoustic sound of Papa Roach. Instead, in 2009, "Metamorphosis" album came out: classic, new metal. For the first time since 2002, the group disc was in the TOP-10 Billboard 100, taking the 8th place.

As part of the Tour, The Connection team came to Moscow for the first time, visited the cities of Belarus, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
