Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carni met when they were 8-9 years old: the boys were brought up in one district of Akron, Ohio. Even at an early age, both had an idea of music, because Auerbach is a cousin of Guitarist Robert Quaina, a veteran of the New York avant-garde scene, and Karni is a nephew of the Saxophonist Ralph Carney.
In school, the guys be friends, despite the fact that they belonged to different social caustes: Auerbach headed the football team, and Karni won the local loser. In 1996, guys, inspired by the success of relatives, began to rehearse. Then Dan only mastered the guitar, and Patrick owned the drum installation. After graduating from school, both entered the University of Akron, but they threw the sake of creativity.
Auerbach tried to make a living by performances in bars. He realized that he would not become famous in other cities without demotupance. Then Dan appealed to a friend. In an interview with the Fresh Air radio station, the guys said that the name The Black Keys (Eng. "Black Keys") appeared due to their shared Alfred McMurra, who suffered schizophrenia. Music

The Black Keys now
In March 2019, The Black Keys after a protracted break was released "Let's Rock", 9th studio album in discography. In the first week, the musicians composed 16 songs, all of them - 27.
