Initially, five girls - Jie, Dzhivon, Yynchon, Hyunda and Giene, who had passed the preliminary selection, were rehearsing and prepared together under the guidance of MNet Media. It was called this team Super Rookies. In the spring of 2009, their first song came out, which became a soundtrack for television drama.
In the summer of the same year, MNet Media announced that Jie and Dzhivon will leave the team due to differences in views on the musical format. There were three new participants in their place.
The first became boras, the daughter of singer Chon Young Rock and the actress Lee Mi-Young. Soyon, the former Intern of SM Entertainment, who had to become the leader of another association, and the girl named Cury entered the updated composition in less than a month before the debut performance. In early July 2009, the Group signed a contract with a subsidiary of Core Contents Media. Hence the history of the group creation.
Music
T-ARA made his debut at the Met Met M Countdown music show on July 30, 2009, where he performed the single Geojitmal. Already in the fall, the group recorded the first studio album Absolute First Album. He took the 3rd place in the chart of albums in Korea and developed a circulation in more than 30 thousand copies by the end of the year. Single ROLY-POLY from this plate reached the 1st place in the charts in his homeland and became the most sold in 2011. Clip on this track scored over a million views. From this point on, producers decided to enter the Japanese market.
In February next year, T-Ara took the 17th place in the list of 40 celebrities according to Forbes Korea, which made them the third to the popularity of the female group and the seventh for the influence of the female celebrity in the country.
