The history of the creation of Sunrise Avenue originates in the Finnish city of Espoo. In April 1992, Haber Samu Haber, in the future, the soul of the group, the author of most songs and a soloist, and the musician Jan Hohenthal (Jan Hohenthal) organized a musical team. Initially, he was called Sunrise (from English. "Dawn") and consisted of four people - still Haneyanne (Sami Heinänen) on the bass guitar and Anti Tuomela (Antti Tuomela) on the drums.
Sunrise successfully toured on the pubs, small festivals and private parties while Haber did not move to Spain in 1998. In the country, the young man spent 4 years, interrupting rare performances, and then returned home.
Returning a friend in Finland, Chohenal and Heynyanen perceived as an opportunity to re-start creative ascent. Tomel by that time he moved away from music. In October 2001, the Trinity gathered in the restaurant "Memphis" in Helsinki to "Discussion of the plan for the world domination Sunrise". The group decided to change the name on Sunrise Avenue, and Heynyanen came up with a logo - on the manner of the American road sign.
The story of the new group ended, did not have time to begin: in 2002, Jan Khochenal left the team, because he decided to focus on solo work. Now he plays in the folk group Metrofolk. The guitarist's place was taken by Classmate Heynyanen - Yanne Kärkkäinen (Janne Kärkkäinen). On the drums played Yuho Sandman (Juho Sandman).
In this composition, Sunrise Avenue continued to perform at student parties, local festivals, in clubs. At first, different producers (Jone Ullakko and Jani SaaStamoinn) were engaged in their promotion, and then there was a permanent associate of Yucca Balklund (Jukka backlund), which Haber calls "Music Mentor" for himself personally and for the team.
Between 2002 and 2005, Haber himself visited the recordings of Finland and Sweden. The answer was invariably negative: the vocalist said that without black clothes and intensive makeup, the rock band could not achieve popularity. Finally, the group signed a contract with Bonnier Amigo Music label.
Music
The "Sunrise Avenue Business Plan" - the unofficial document of the Financing Department of the Debut Album "On the Wonderland". His Haber himself also showed her friend, the seller of Copy equipment Mikko Virtall, who gave money to record most tracks and a trip to France to meet with European labels. So there was a meeting of Sunrise Avenue with the future permanent manager of Bob Cunningham."On the Wonderland" came out in 2006 near the British EMI label and confidently entrenched in European charts. In Germany, the disk became platinum and reached the 32nd place, in Greece - gold.
Most of the famous and today Sunrise Avenue songs are contained on "On the Wonderland": "Forever Yours", "All Because of You", "Choose to Be Me". But the Single "Fairytale Gone Bad" became the most top hit. The clip is shot at him in Barcelona Ralph Stratmann, who actively cooperates with MUSE. In many respects, precisely thanks to the "FairyTale Gone Bad" group gave three anchlag concerts in Europe and performed at the largest European festivals like Rock Am Ring in 2007.
In 2007, Sunrise Avenue participants decided to dismiss Janne Kyarkkäin, as he did not cope with the loads. In response, the guitarist filed a lawsuit against the group, arguing that they were not eligible to act without him. Sunrise Avenue won the case in the court of the first level of Finland.
After 3 years of legal struggle between the parties a secret financial agreement was concluded, which put the end of the partial. Only one position is known from the agreement, according to which the name of the group and the trademark belongs to the only person left from the initial composition - Haberu himself.
Next, the story of Sunrise Avenue turns into a habeer's biography. Even after the departure of friends, he was left alone. Together with the producer of Yukhki Bumplund vocalist bought a sound recording studio Sonic Kitchen in Helsinki. The third in the share was Aku Sinivalo (Aku Sinivalo). With such support, Haber recorded the second Studio Album Sunrise Avenue "Popgasm" in 2009.
Musical critics say that "PopGasm" turned out to be significantly "quieter" of the predecessor, but everything also represents the direction of pop rock. None of the 14 songs of this album managed to achieve the same level of popularity as "Fairytale Gone Bad". However, the singles "The Whole Story", "Not Again" and "Welcome to My Life" are recognizable.
In 2010, the group rolled with an acoustic program in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The result was not only thousands of satisfied fans, but also the video cassette "Acoustic Tour Live 2010", which massively separated by European countries. Immediately after the release of the disk, Haber sat down for writing the third album. The songs were composed during the tour of Helsinki, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Stockholm, Greece and Germany.
In the summer of 2010, after negotiations with many large Scandinavian recording companies, Sunrise Avenue signed a worldwide agreement with Universal Music on the promotion of "Out of Style" (2010). The album came out in 70 countries of the world. Single "Hollywood Hills" climbed on the tops of many charts, in Germany, Sweden and Switzerland became platinum, and in Finland and Austria - gold.
Haber himself admits that in the history of Sunrise Avenue, as in the path of other performers, crises happened:
"It happened, we thought that our group would not achieve anything. But dark thoughts disappear whenever we go to the scene. See smiling young people who sink our songs is the most expensive thing that can be. And if they sing, it means that there is something in our music. "Album "Unholy Ground" (2013) Fans are called the most honest in the discography of the group. Haber, guitarist Rica Riyamaaa, the drummer themselves Osak and Bassist Raul Ruut worked on him 18 months at the farm distant from the world. The building did not have the Internet and most often - telephone communication, so the musicians managed to completely concentrate on the record.
Sunrise Avenue did not try to associate with a specific musical style, develop a recognizable sound. Therefore, the disk that turned out is not only a pop rock, but also country, Satern-Rock, alternative. On him - and rock ballads about people who save lives daily and care daily, and pop compositions about painful discretions.
In 2014, the group released a collection of best hits "Best of". The standard version includes 17 songs, fan edition - 33. The latter has been limited by a limited edition, only 3 thousand disks, and on the cover of each different photo from the Sunrise Avenue tours.
After the tour in support of this album, Haber himself, who at the same time was a mentor on the German show "Voice", decided to relax. Taking the guitar, he went to travel around the world for 2.5 years. On the expanses of Australia, the USA, Great Britain, Finland, Denmark, the compositions were born on the basis of the fifth studio plate Sunrise Avenue "Heartbreak Century" (2017).
The name is translated from the English language as the "century of a broken heart." The main topic of the album is a person who even in conditions of technological progress and complete security suffers from unrequited love. The standard playlist includes 12 compositions, including one single "I Help You Hate Me".
SUNRISE AVENUE Now
In January 2019, a fantastic action movie "Iron Sky - 2" came out to large screens, for which Sunrise Avenue wrote the main soundtrack "Iron Sky".
So far, neither on the official site of Sunrise Avenue, nor on the page "Instagram" there are no messages about the recording of a new album. But the world tour was held in support of Heartbreak Century. In the summer of 2019, the musicians visited a number of cities in Finland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including in large festivals.
