Biography

Bright guitar pop rock music was popular since the time "Beatles", and many successfully built career on this saound. Of the modern representatives of the direction, the Tame Impala group has become the most popular project, which perfectly imitates the sound of the end of the 1960s, but does not copy other teams, but has its own style and highlight.

The history of creation and composition

The history of the creation of the group began in 1999, when a 13-year-old teenager from the Australian city of Perth Kevin Parker and his buddy Dominic Simper often sat down at each other's house and tried to experiment with music. Over time, it turned out in the entry of tracks.

Parker performed songs and played the guitar. He was born in Sydney, but most of his life spent on the West Coast of Australia. His mother moved there from South Africa, his father was an outcomes from Zimbabwe. The boy from early childhood began to be interested in music, and the first teacher in his biography was the father who taught his son to play on string instruments. At 11, a teenager began to master the drums and at the same time tried to record tracks.

The first draft of the team's creators was founded in 2005, he was called "The Dee Dee Dums". In addition to Vocalist and Drummer Parker, there was a guitarist Luke Epstine, but later his place was taken by Sam Delegen. The last guitarist left the team in 2006, joining the group "Sugarpuss".

In 2007, The Dee Dee Dums became the basis for organizing a more popular team "Tame Impala". Over time, Parker began to become other musical genres and, in the end, he stopped at psychedelic rock. This completely modified the tracks of the guys to their current style, brought new elements and a softer sound.

The last composition has undergone, instead of two guitarists, the guys decided to perform in a more traditional format and leave only a guitarist, a bass guitarist and drummer. An interesting fact is that the past davryport no longer engaged in music, he began an acting career.

Dominic Simper also lived in Perth. Starting with Kevin, later he left his comrade and was engaged in other projects. But since the group lacked people for living speeches, again joined her in 2007. In addition to Simper and Parker, Jay Watson came to the team. The guy is known as a multi-instrumentalist. Later, the bass guitarist Nick Ollbrook became a member of the team, but also left, and his place quickly took another musician - Cam Avery.

Music

Forming a team, the musicians gradually combined the retrosound with more modern chips, and when the team gained their own style, began to post tracks on the Myspace online portal. It was the whole pair of compositions, but the songs attracted the attention of the sound recording studio Modular Records. Its representatives contacted guys and asked them an additional material.

The Tame Impala group did not lose such a chance, and therefore Parker sends the Demones to the studio 20, which he recorded in 2003. According to the author, all these compositions were not intended for the public. The guy created them for listening in a circle of friends and loved ones, but fate ordered otherwise.

The creativity of the guys appreciated other companies, but Kevin preferences first. From this twenty there were only 3 songs, and indeed they were the best, allowing the guys to take a place in the top ten Aria Physical Singles Chart and become the leaders of the Australian Independent Records Labels Chart.

Although by that time "Tame Impala" has become a purely studio project, they often had spontaneous performances with random musicians. In one of these days, the team noted the manager of the American group "MGMT" and suggested the Australians joint tour. And soon the team spent two more national tour with Black Keys and You Am I.

So the guys visited the Southbound Festival Museicians, Meredith Music Festival and Falls Festival, and also conducted their own tour in support of the album. A year later, they went to the 6-day tour of Australia and the 5-day in the UK, gave concerts on 3 festivals. At the same time, the team produces a new single "Sundown Syndrome".

The debut of the full-length album "InnerSpeaker" took place at Tame Impala in 2010. Moreover, he was recorded with almost one Kevin, Watson and Simper participated in its creation to a lesser extent. The modern presentation of the psychedelic of the 1960s was perceived by the listeners with a bang, the disk received a lot of laudatory reviews, as well as awards, including Aria Album of the Year and J Album of the Year. The plate took 4th place in the Australian Hit Parade.

The second disk came out in 2012. "Lonerism" became the best plate of that year in Australia, and next year he even got into the nomination for the Grammy Award as the best alternative album. Creating songs for him, guys were inspired by the works of Todd Randgren. Only 210 thousand copies were sold in America. As Parker talked in an interview, he independently wrote all the music and texts, with the exception of compositions "Apocalypse Dreams" and "Elephant", Watson helped him there.

Almost immediately after the release of the album, the group recorded clips for the songs of Feels Like We Only Go Backwards and Elephant. And if in the first case the music sounds under psychedelic images with bright colors and constantly changing each other, then over the second roller, the guys have worked more. When it is created, the musicians involved video recording from concerts and from the studio, however, they were also treated and presented in the form characteristic of the team.

Successful outlet of the plate inspired Kevin to another project. The guy was united with comrades and created Space Disco-bend "AAA AARDVARK GETDOWN SERVICES", for a while throwing work in Tame Impala. The main project Parker did not closed, but as a result, the work in the new group affected the sound of the next album, which turned out to be more electronic and dance.

The presentation of the 3rd record "Currents" took place in the summer of 2015. Despite the tangible changes, the fans took the music benevolently. This album became the leader of the Australian Currents, and the group was again nominated at Grammy.

In the record of the record, 4 label participated at once. In the final list of the best albums of 2015, the Rolling Stone magazine placed the drive of the guys on the 13th line, noting that it was filled with weightless vocals and synthesized funk, and therefore "sounds like a set of sad diary records of astronaut who flooded in oblivion."

The album includes 13 songs, but only some became hits, they included the songs of "The Less I Know The Better", the team was shot on it and the clip, "Let It Happen" and "Cause I'm A MAN".

In 2016, the founder of Tame Impala said he writes new music, but not yet sure whether it will be involved in its main project. In 2017, the guys did not release a new album, which was waiting for the public, and only a year later they said that the work on it was already started and will be completed by the summer of 2019. At the same time, the team does not forget about new songs, in March 2018 they released the single "My Life", to create which they united with a musical producer and vocalist in the genre of electronic music Zhu.
