In 2020, the legendary group "Cruise" marks 40 years. During the existence, the musicians released more than a dozen studio albums and played hundreds of concerts in Russian and foreign sites. In the early 1980s, the team members turned the presentation of the Soviet public about Rock and gave a number of brightest performances that demonstrated a new approach to the concept of vocal instrumental ensembles.The history of creation and composition
The history of the creation of the Rock Group "Cruise" is inextricably linked with the name of the Soviet musician and the composer Matthew Anichkina, who was the artistic director of the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Young Voices".
The most famous brainchild of the collective, in which the drummer played Vsevolod Koroluk, the bassist Alexander Kirnitsky, guitarist Valery Gaina and Matvey Anichkin's multi-instrumentalist, became the rock formulation of Star Skitaletz, represented by the public in the 1980s. Vocal parties in the rooms written in the poems of Boris Doronin, while the author and singers were performed at that time: Alexander Monin, Irina Gracheva, Vladimir Pustokin and Vera Vlasov.
The premiere of the play took place in Tallinn at the event carried out within the framework of the Summer Olympics. After that, it was decided to reduce the composition of the ensemble, change the image and come up with a new name. So there was a rock band "Cruise", consisting of a keyboard player Matthew Anichkin, a guitarist Valery Gaina, drummer and back-vocalist of the Kardiuk, Basist Alexander Karnitsky and Solist Alexander Monina.
Musicians settled in Tambov and under the auspices of the director of the local philharmonic, Yuri Gukova, recorded the first songs that later became the classics of domestic rock.
Most of the compositions wrote Gaina, and the texts provided Kirnitsky, who was an integral part of the team until 2003, and then left it due to creative disagreements and died with unexplained circumstances in 2008.
Among other participants in the "cruise", many times the composition of the performers, a special place was occupied by Grigory Weremond, who, after the keyboard, Sergey Sarychev joined Monina and the company in 1982. In addition, after the release of 2 albums, the bassist Oleg Kuzmichov appeared in the group, Pianist Vladimir Kapustin and the familiar striker Nikolai Chunusov.
In subsequent years, the musicians reinforced by Guitarist Dmitry Thurspiem, Drummer Vasily Shapovalov, bassists Fyodor Vasilyev and Yuri Levachev, experimented with the composition and were engaged in parallel projects. As a result, by 2019, three independent teams headed by Grigory Bezugon, Valery Gaiina and Matvey Anichkin, came out of the old "cruise".
These branches received the rights to use the initial brand and in order to avoid disagreement documented such a state of affairs.
Music
In the 1980s, ensembles and groups that existed in the USSR have experienced tremendous difficulties with a rehearsal basis and technical equipment. Despite this, the first records of the "cruise" made in a non-specialized room on a two-channel Taskam tape recorder, reached the listeners and immediately brought the popularity to the young team.Hard sounding, inherent on the tracks of the debut album, "spinning the wolf" 1981, interested the public and provided a group of all-union fame. Songs written in poems of Poet Valery Sautkina and Sergey Sarychev's music were distinguished by unusual arrangements and an energetic pace and identified the corporate style "Cruise", with minor changes that have survived to the present.
After the release of the album on the cassettes of the musicians was invited to the capital with a concert, which became an impetus to the subsequent development and made a "cruise" the best team in the USSR.
Inspired by success, the participants of the group began work on new material, and in 1982 the songs "I am Tree" came to the world, "how boring to live without bright fairy tales" and other tape recorders, combined by "Listen, Man".
With the advent of the second guitar on which Gregory Bezness was played, the compositions acquired a surround sound with pronounced vocal batches and lyrical solo performed by the Gaina. With such innovations, the creativity of the "cruise" went beyond the concept of the albums and was replenished with the rock formulation of the "Air Balloon", famous for the compositions of the "Soul", "aspirations", "Mongolfier" and others.
The performance made by the musicians themselves had a stunning success. Fans defended many hours to see how Soviet rockers fly over the scene against the heat of the thermal aerostat filled with air.
However, the atmosphere, created by Monina and the Company, caused a strange reaction from fans, which after concerts went outside and satisfied the riots. This led to the dissatisfaction with the strong world of this, and the "cruise" was forced to stop touring and go underground.
The way out of the current situation was found in 1984, when the frontman of the group with the support of Grigory Bezness, Oleg Kuzmichyev and Nikolai Chunusov registered a new team called "EUM" in the Ministry of Culture. This abbreviation first caused bewilderment and displeasure fans, but after deciphering ("Eh, your mother!") And the release of the album "Durge" The audience realized that the musicians remained the same and did not change the principles of hard rock and alternatives.
And Gaina with other participants of the desired group continued to exist under the name "Cruise" and in 1985 released the album "Kikogava". The absence of former colleagues affected the quality of music that did not like fans, and the guitarist decided to change the style from Hard-rock to Hevi-Metal and took the position of vocalist and frontman.
At first glance, the experiment was crowned with success, and the Soviet firm "Melodia" became interested in songs from the album "Rock forever", but after the release of a plate, based on the demotupies of the Gaina and Comrades, it became clear that such a "cruise" was not needed by the public of the USSR.
Frustrated musicians left abroad and after concerts in Spain, Norway, Sweden and other European countries received international recognition and support of professional agents and producers.
Thanks to this, the Gainovsky Cruise has replenished discography with two English-speaking plates with the hits "Knight Road" and "Avenger" and became one of the leaders of the metal scene of the late 1980s - early 1990s.
It seemed that success and popularity should have contributed to the prosperity of the team, but instead they spawned the atmosphere of misunderstanding and creative disagreements. As a result, the musicians returned to their homeland and organized their own teams, which made the touring activities of the Cruise Group, indefinitely, were organized.
However, thanks to the participants of the "computer", the famous Soviet brand was revived in 1996, after another change of the composition, released a double plate called "to stand up" and overwritten old compositions for CD and DVD albums.
Most of the tracks composed in the early 1980s were used in the project "25 and 5", accompanied by video clips, and spito during long touring tours throughout 2007-2010. Fans hoped that their idols were overcome all the difficulties and fell on the path of harmony and constancy.
So it happened until the musical world shocked the news of the sudden death of the leader and vocalist Alexander Monina. Because of this, the musicians have suspended creative activities for half a year, limiting the release of a posthumous album with unnecessary material.
In parallel, the Group was looking for a replacement for a untimely left friend and at the beginning of 2011 introduced the public to the public of the new singer Dmitry Avramenko. His voice sounded in the album "Salt of Life", based on compositions composed by Monina before his death.
At the same time, preparation for the celebration of the 30-year anniversary of the Cruise began, in which a concert was held in the Green Gorky Park and the exit of the album "Revival of the legend.
