The history of the American group Cage The Elephant began with 2006 since 2006, but only a decade to truly glorify the musicians later: in 2017, their Tell Me I-Pretty took the Grammy for the best rock album. Since then, Cage The Elephant confidently make their way to the musical Olympus.

The history of creation and composition

Cage The Elephant participants got acquainted with each other's musical abilities in the older school Bowling Green, Kentucky. The former group was called Perfect Confusion. In 2005, they had the same mini-compilation that was left without only labels, but even classmates.

The most experienced in Perfect Confusion was Matthew Schulz, who still in the 7th grade joined the experimental LEFT Nostril punk team. After school, a fracture took place in the biography of a talented vocalist, and he settled in a plumber into a construction store.

The first singles "FREE LOVE" and "IN ONE EAR" did not even go to the radio. The second album "Thank You, Happy Birthday" was born hard. Its exit under the other name "Computer Says Move" was expected in early 2010. However, Cage The Elephant, by that time, writing more than 80 songs, decided that none would not be a hit. Then the guys took ideas that were kept for third-party projects, and began recording the album at first. Last for a year, "Thank You, Happy Birthday" came out in January 2011.

Clip on Shake Me Down In September 2011, nominated for the MTV Video Music Award Award as the best rock video. It was the first recognition of Cage The Elephant. Then the Rolling Stone magazine called the group with the best new artist of 2011.
