The history of the Alt-J group, using the Greek letter Δ as an identification mark, began in one of the British universities, where Joe Newman studied, Gas Angeor Hamilton, Gilv Sainsbury and Tom Green.

Unlike other representatives of alternative destinations in British music until 2014, Alt-J did not change the composition of the participants, but then Gvil Sainsbury left friends. Now Joe Newman is as a soloist and guitarist of the group, Tomny Green and Gus Unger-Hamilton play the drums and keys, and also compose music and are generators of ideas.
Music
At the end of 2011, Alt-j signed a contract with the label Infectious Records and with the help of producer Charlie Andrew recorded Matilda, Tesselte, Hand-Made and Breezeblocks tracks.
