The creative biography of the group is unusual. By 2007, American musician Justin Vernon experienced a difficult period. A group De Yarmond Edison broke up, the guy broke up with his beloved and fought with mononucleosis. To rest and come to yourself after such events, Justin decided to move to the entire winter in the Father's Forest House, located in the north of Wisconsin.
At this time, the creative pseudonym Bon IVER is born. The guy, spending days in bed due to the disease, was forced to watch television programs, among whom was the series about the inhabitants of Alaska. In the next series, Vernon saw that during the fall of the first snowflakes, the local ritual adhere to the ritual - wish the neighbors of a good winter, which is translated into French as Bon Hiver.
In the setting of coziness and privacy, the musician began to "throw out" new compositions. According to the guy, it was not done for a musical career, but only then to forget, recover from the experiences of events that happened to him. In addition, the performer has already had a breathtaking musical material - shortly before moving to Wisconsin, a young man collaborated with the group The Rosebuds. When the music was written, the author decided to collect the team in which Sean Carey entered, Matthew McCan, Michael Lewis and Andrew Fitzpatrick. The album compositions organically combined indi-folk elements, as well as born associations with some PINK Floyd works.The popularity of the debut disk prompted the musicians to continue working in the same direction. In 2011, the Group released the second studio record, named as well as the team. At the end of the year, the team was nominated at the Grammy at once in four categories, two of which won. In 2016, the project participants pleased the fans with the release of new work 22, a Million. The plate supported the stylistics of the first two albums, the orientation was intensified on the Chaimber-Pop genre. Each of the album released by the team was tested at concerts, festivals held on both sides of the ocean. Musicians work both solo and in collaboration with other popular performers.
