Biography

The Bauhaus group, desired by its gloomy songs at the peak of the growth of punk rock bands, is considered to be a pioneer of Gothic Rock genre. She appeared when heavy electronic music was only gaining momentum, but despite this, he managed to achieve heights. The concerts of the team were accompanied by the full halls of devotees of fans, and their songs fell into the best musical charts.

The history of creation and composition

The history of the creation of Bauhaus is inextricably linked with the previously existing team, which spoke under the name The Craze. The guitarist's place was occupied by Daniel Ash, the bassist was David Jay Haskin, and his brother Kevin was on the drums. After decay, the team decides to create a new group and first performs in the composition of three people.

However, when the musicians realized that they could not move in this kind, they invite another participant - Peter Murphy vocalist. This guy had no relation to music, he worked at the printed factory, did not speak in groups and did not sing at all. But Daniel thought that a friend had a memorable appearance, which would be perfectly looked at the stage and would fill his inability to sing.

At the same time, a new name was invented for the newly created team, at first it sounded like Bauhaus 1919 and symbolized the movement of German artists of the beginning of the century. However, after a year, the numbers from the title were removed, leaving only Bauhaus.

Music

As part of four musicians, the first concert group gave winter, on New Year's Eve from 1978 to 1979, in the nightclub of Cromwell. And after a couple of weeks, the musicians went to the SMALL Wonder Records sound recording studio to create the first album in the Flat Field, the release of which was held in the 1980s.

Of course, it was not necessary to count on success, but one of the songs, "Bela Lugosi's Dead", which ultimately ended with a real goth-hymn, settled in English charts for a couple of years. Not all critics perceived the work of the team positively, however, among the students of informal music, the team was still popular.

In the fall of 1981, Bauhaus presents the second studio plate Mask, however, the tracks for her, artists have been diagnosed with electronic and acoustic guitars, and something even was heard by funk, while the impression of gleams did not disappear anywhere.

Having taking the 30th line of the British Chart with this album, to consolidate the success of the team decided the Cavern recorded on the song David Bowie Ziggy Stardust. Plates Artists were placed on paid sources and their own website, where, in addition to songs, numerous photos, clips and concert records were presented.

The third round of the "Studio" Bauhaus The Sky's Gone Out, released in 1982, had a limited circulation and was accompanied by a disk with a concert record. And already at the beginning of the 1983th vocalist Murphy seriously fell ill, because of the pneumonia, he did not participate in the creation of the 4th plate Burning from The Inside.

Daniel and David took a leading role in writing songs, in some tracks they paid increased attention acoustics. The commercial success of the disk from this was not injured, according to the result, the record got on the 13th place in the chart. When Murphy corrected his health, the group went on tour in support of the album, but before him the musicians decided that they would no longer work together.

Collapse of the collective

In 1983, the collapse of the team was not final. All the time before returning to the scene, the musicians tried to develop a career in other projects. Murphy began to perform sololy, and other team members, renamed Tones On Tail (then the name was changed to Love and Rockets), performed three. However, both projects did not reach the Bauhaus level.

Their first return to the scene took place in 1998, the Quartet held Resurrection Tour, according to which the Gotham concert larch released. However, it did not go further, and the musicians were again disappeared from the field of vision of fans.

The second Reunion Bauhaus fell for 2005, this time the tour was more prolonged, and frequent meetings in the studio subsequently led to the recording of the 5th plate GO Away White. Immediately after its release, the Group stated that the disk would definitely become the last in the discography. So it happened, after that, the team members no longer appeared together on stage.
