Catatany initially conceived by scenarios as an ambiguous and diverse character, whose plot line will become unpredictable for the audience. The name of the Commissioner, Korrado, translates as a "brave adviser". Plachly admitted that he had invested a lot of his own character traits. In his youth, the actor served in the Roman police, so knowledge of the details helped him play convincingly.
In the fan environment, it is believed that the prototype of the Commissioner was the fearless head of the criminal police Giovanni Falcone, killed by the Sicilian mafia in 1992. The authors of the series do not confirm this version.
The series "Sprut" made Michele Plachlyo National Hero. The actor received the status of a sex symbol, his photo was constantly appearing in the media, and the quotations from the film and the music of the authorship of Annio Morrison made a picture of the cult.
However, despite popularity, the actor soon hurried to abandon the role and demanded from directors to kill the character. Critics celebrated the huge courage of Catatan and at the same time his deep pessimism: he knew from the very beginning that the mafia could not be defeated, but could not refuse efforts.The Commissioner applies to professional standards without a proper pitue: when it is necessary, he without thinking provokes his own attempt, builds traps with the participation of witnesses and generally resorts to tricks and violations of the rules. However, until the pores of Catatan, carefully monitors the moral side of the actions, and if anyone is substituted under the blow, then only himself.
The main deviation from the stereotypical image of a bold policeman is the loving unlawfulness of the Kattan Commissioner. He is an insightful decet, but at the same time a deceived husband, an unfortunate father, a frivolous lover. Already survived Catatani only his last woman, Sylvia Connyi, the same desperate and irreconcilable fighter with the mafia. Burving a loved one, she is forced to stand on the path of revenge, having experienced the role of the Commissioner.
The final series with the death of Kattani collected more than 17 million people near the screens.
