Dutch Symphony Metal-Metal-Group Delain, which took the name from the Roman Stephen King "The Eyes of the Dragon", so successfully launched a creative career that in 2007 was nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards. The history of the Delain group began after Marteine Westercholt, who left the Within Temptation team due to an acute infectious viral disease, restored health in 2002 and decided to establish his own project.
Introducing several trial compositions, the former keyboard player of the famous Netherlands team sent to the demo musicians, with whom he wanted to cooperate, and presented the sound engineer recorded by them by the party by Stefan Helleblad.
Thus, the first participants in the group were the ex-guitarist Lacrimosa Yang Irlund, Vocalist Liv Christine and Sharon Den Adel, as well as the drummer Arion Vednbek and Multi-instrumentalists Marco Hietala and Musey Eikens.
In subsequent years, DELAIN has undergone repeated changes, because part of the involved musicians did not quite satisfy the remote barrier, and now the singer Charlotte Vessels, as well as Timm Somers, Otto Shimmelpennink Van der Oiem, Martight De Boer .
Music
The debut album of the DELAIN group, published on September 4, 2006, called Lucidity, embodied Martight Westercholt's dream to collect professionals from different teams. As a result, he became the first success in the creative biography of such an unusual project and immediately after the release came to the national alternative chart.Popularity among fans of Symphony Metal fans contributed to Single Me In Shadow, Shattered, Frozen and The Gathering, which, in addition to the original version, presented on the source plate, contained several options for acoustics, as well as tracks with remixes and in some cases video clips .
Musicians, formally included in the group of the group, gave a number of successful concerts in the Netherlands, during which new songs of Start Swimming and Stay Forever were presented. And in 2009, these compositions together with the Light National Song of I'm Reach You entered the 2nd Studio Plate, published at the Roadrunner Studio and the named April Rain.
Having taking the 1st line in the Dutch Alternative Top 30 rating, this work was presented in speeches in the Netherlands with numerous repetitions during the tour musicians in Mexico and the United States. Later, some of the participants of Delain were present at the festivals of Hellfest, Lowlands, Wacken and Sonisphere, and then continued the presentation and visited Paris and Amsterdam.
In 2011, Martine Westerholt, who watched which emotions, the Group calls from the public, decided to abandon remote records and released the first jointly rehearsed single. And then other compositions have appeared from the third studio album We Are The Others - Babylon, Electricity and Get The Devil Out Of Me.
In November 2012, after the release of the 3rd line in the Hit Parades of the UK, Delan was performed at the Dames Of Darkness event. Soon after that, an online interlude collection appeared on official Internet pages. By playing presentation concerts, the participants wrote new music, replenished with a discography with a record called The Human Contradiction and went on tour with the Kamelot group.
Growing popularity provided the Westercholt project a warm welcome in Canada, the United States and most Latin American countries and entailed the release of EP Lunar Prelude and a full-length Moonbathers disk. The latter contained a Caver-version of the SCANDAL song, written in 1989 by Brian Meem and Freddie Mercury, as well as tracks of different genres The Monarch, Pendulum and The Hurricane.
In 2007, the 10-year anniversary of the debut plate Delain gave fans a professional concert DVD, followed by painstaking work in the studio and the release of the new EP disk.
Delain now
In early 2019, the official presentation of Hunter's Moon mini album, supported by two separate singles, which the musicians were going to include in a full-format studio plate, scheduled for exit in 2020. The "Instagram" DELAIN published a photo of the speeches, where Finnish concerts in Tampere, Helsinki and Turku were mentioned.
